A kennel that’s simple to set up isn’t just easier on you, it’s better for your dog, too. Look for a kennel that takes no longer than 30 minutes to set up. If you have to leave your dog in the car or tied up while you work, you won’t want to leave it for longer than that.

Also make sure the kennel doesn’t require any unusual tools to set up. With most kennels, you won’t need anything more than a pair of pliers and some don’t need any tools at all. While a secure lock is important, you’ll also want something you can open and close with one hand so the other hand is free to hold a leash or the dog itself.
