Dog Carriers For
Cars
Getting a dog carrier for the car can be
another option to getting a barrier to keep your dog
safely in the backseat.
Before getting your carrier, it is important
to consider how you will be using the carrier.
Is the carrier for the car only?
Will you be carrying your dog in the carrier as well? If the
carrier is for the car only, you may want to check some of the
very roomy and comfy soft sided carriers. These roomier
carriers are ideal if your road trip is long, lasting for
hours. These carriers can sometimes be hard to carry your pet
in, be on the lookout for sturdy handles and make sure it will
not collapse with the weight of your dog inside.
Soft sided carriers can also be
great as a training crate, provided it is big enough, and can
be used whenever you need to confine your dog for a bit.
Watch for a carrier that is
washable, is sturdy, has plenty of ventilation, and
safe closures, such as sturdy zippers. Do stay away from
velcro.
Can the carrier be collapsed for easy
storage? Carriers can take up a lot of space, especially when
you have several. Being able to store them easily is an
important consideration.
Most carriers come in many sizes. We like to
get one size up for our pets, just to assure that they have
enough room especially on longer trips. Does the carrier
provide a space for a food and water bowl? If not, it is easy
to get special travel bowls.
There is an abundance of high quality dog
carriers for cars. Do compare the features before you buy to
get your doggie something to travel in with style and
class.
